Parent Educator Program (PEP)
Students in grades 4-5 participate in the PFC-funded PEP (Parent Educator Program). Parent volunteers, who have had many hours of training, teach one lesson each week per classroom for a period of up to 12 weeks. The program is designed to reduce risk factors for adolescent drug use and has an explicit “no use” message for children. Special emphasis is placed on positive self-esteem. Students learn basic drug facts, responsible decision-making, resistance skills, and positive peer interaction.
Parent volunteers who are interested are given training and lessons designed for each week. If you are interested in training, please contact the PFC .
